We’re a big group. We run or help run several series of meetings. They help us as a group and they help shape and inform our research in important ways.

  • Research meetings (internal) — every Friday, 13.30-14.00, brief updates on what everyone is up to
  • ILPS Lunch (internal) — every first Friday of the month, 13.00-13.30, free lunch
  • ISLA seminar — monthly presentations usually by senior researchers from outside the Institute, Tuesdays, 11.30-12.30
  • ILPS Soos (internal) — 3 meetings per month, with 2 internal speakers per meeting; usually devoted to ongoing and/or early stage research, usually on Tuesdays, 11.30-12.30
  • CCCT seminar — every third Friday of the month, 16.00-17.00, aimed at creating and fostering research ties with colleagues in the humanities and social and behavioral sciences
  • SEA: Search Engines Amsterdam — every fourth Friday of the month, 16.00-17.00, a strong focus on search engine research, development and innovation: algorithms, evaluation, code; see this SEA Meetup page.
  • We run several reading groups
