Abdo El Ali wins best student paper award at ICMI 2012

Abdo won the Best Student Paper Award at 14th International Conference on Multimodal Interaction (ICMI 2012) for his paper: A. El Ali, J. Kildal and V. Lantz, Fishing or a Z?: Investigating the Effects of Error on Mimetic and Alphabet Device-based Gesture Interaction. Dutch Data Prize 2012 awarded to Political Mashup

The Political Mashup project led by Maarten Marx has won the Dutch Data prize 2012 for making available large volumes of highly structured and enriched political data. The winners receive a sculpture, €7,500 to make the dataset accessible/improve access to the data and an all-expenses paid dinner for the group of researchers involved in producing the relevant data set and making it accessible.
