Ke Tran Manh Joins ILPS

Ke Tran Manh joined the ILPS group as a PhD student. Ke works on statistical machine translation within the NWO Vidi project SurReal (Surface Realization for Statistical Machine Translation) under the supervision of Christof Monz. His work will focus on machine learning approaches to surface realization modeling for machine translation. Before joining ILPS, Ke completed an Erasmus Mundus MSc in Language and Communication Technologies at Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic, and the University of Groningen.

Marlies van der Wees joins ILPS

Marlies van der Wees joins the ILPS group as a PhD student. Marlies works on statistical machine translation within the DIGIT project (Domain and Genre Independent Translation) under the supervision of Christof Monz. Her work will focus on improving machine translation by developing translation models that are sensitive to changes with respect to domain and genre. Before joining ILPS, Marlies completed an MSc in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology at the VU University Amsterdam.
