Schedule
The WebCLEF schedule for 2007 is still being finalized. Here's the current (Feb 2007) draft version:
- May 31: data and assessments of a baseline system (Google snippets) for 5 development topic are available
- June 1: test topic development starts
- June 20: topic development stops
- July 1: topics released
July 8July 19: participants' results due;July 15July 20: assessment starts- August 15: assessment is complete, preliminary results released to the participants
- September 19-21: Final results released at the CLEF 2007 workshop

November 4, 2006: first announcement
Together with the first call for participation for CLEF 2007, the first announcement for WebCLEF 2007 will be released:
WebCLEF 2007
WebCLEF 2007 will be centered around a "dossier task": given a topic, which is typically a person, organization, event, ..., systems compile a dossier consisting of two types of textual objects: focused snippets from a given text collection that contribute important information about the topic plus documents that contain additional information worth including in the dossier.
